I am going to try to talk to Valve tomorrow and try to ask them to put on the internet list. Your friends can join this through the lan server list. We've got friends server with 0 to 8 players, and devtestmap, very low latency, you can see its got the VAC secure icon as well as this little lock to show that it is locked. If you want to make sure your server is working properly, you can go onto the server list and refresh view. There are a lot of options, a lot of the commands will accept either their playername, character name, player id, steam id, and that will give you a lot of control vs 2.0. We can do things like find all the players that have connected. Inside the server console you can type help and it will give you a list of all the commands that are availible, as well as when you do localization you can confgure what the command is called. You can also do things like configure the port. So if you want to get ingame and see what your level looks like. It has some default things like 'map' and stuff like that, but maybe you want to have your own map configured, so my map is called devtest, so you can put 'map ' and whatever map name you are working on. So we might want to put some other parameters in there. Okay now if we run the shortcut it should say these things in the console. We'll set the 'password' to topsecretpassword ('password topsecretpassword'). So what were going to going to call it, 'name' is friends server ('name friends server'). You can use it to store the commands you want to run before the server launches, or if you are going to be restarting your server and you want to have things save you can put them in here. ![]() (it seems openable in a text editor) We are just going to worry about the commands file. ![]() We've got our friends_server folder and inside here we have some files here, this is basically the configuration for your server. It will create this if you don't already have it. Now if we run this shortcut, it will open up the console, and there is nothing here right now, if we type shutdown it will create all the folders for us in the servers folder. We're going to call this server friends_server. Okay we'll give it a / and a server id, this is the folder that all your save data will get stored in, so keep that in mind. Insecure server has VAC disabled, and what we want is secure server. LAN server will just show up on your local area network and has no authentication. After the quotes in the target paramters, you put '-nographics -batchmode' and then put a +, after the plus you put in what type of server it is, there are three different options: you can do secure server, insecure server, or lan server. I want to use this server to play with some friends on, or whatever you want to use the server for even if you just want to play by yourself. ![]() All these new features, much more control, way better.īasically all you gotta do, is find your unturned.exe, create a shortcut for it, and name the shortcut after what you want the server name to be, I am going to call this client, err no i am going to call this friends server. Basically its a bit harder than 2.0 but the tradeoff is it works way better and the statedata is stored in these folders. Today I am going to be making a tutorial for you showing you how to setup your unturned 3.0 server.
